Scouting across Wolsey District is managed and run all by volunteers. Some people offer skills to support the Groups in the background whilst others share or lead a section. We can only support our Young people with these great volunteers and are always looking for new faces.

District Treasurer – April 2024

Are you well organised?

Do you want to help local young people but not work directly with them? Do you have a few hours here and there to spare to help our growing Scout District.

Wolsey Scout District (which covers parts of West Ipswich and the surrounding area) offers excellent scouting to local young people.

We need a Treasurer to be part of our District Trustee Board.

The Trustee Board offers support to the Wolsey Scout District, a bit like a board of governors does to a school. The Trustee Board is made up of several people. The Trustee Board makes financial and management decisions, usually meets around 4 times a year.

The main roles of the District Treasurer are:

– Look after the finances on behalf of Wolsey District Trustee Board
– Report regularly details about income and expenditure to other Trustees.
– Make sure proper accounts and records are kept.
– Produce accounts and financial reports for the District Annual General Meeting

No financial qualifications are required, just an understanding of good financial practice. Training and learning is freely available.
